Additional layer of security: Route4Gas is ISO 27001 certified

Now it is official: On the 22 August 2019, the Bureau Veritas certified Route4Gas with the ISO/IEC 27001:2013, following successful completion of an audit. Route4Gas has shown, they have the right practices and policies in place to ensure secure design and development.

Nikolay Petrov, CTO of Route4Gas, who was involved in the process, commented: “Protecting our customer data is critical for trusting the Route4Gas solution. We use security best practices available in industry and demonstrate compliance to industry standards through certifications by independent trusted bodies, like Bureau Veritas.”

ISO 27001 is a specification for an information security management system (ISMS). An ISMS provides a framework for information security management best practice that helps organisations to protect client and employee information and makes sensitive data remain secure. It preserves the confidentiality, integrity and availability of information by applying a risk management process and gives confidence that Route4Gas manages their risks adequately. As a requirement of the ISO 27001 audit, IT systems must be kept up to date, along with the anti-virus protection and any applications contained on machines. Following ISO, all staff will have clear guidelines to follow, which helps to keep the system secure and free from attack.

Cyber-attacks could always happen. In addition to cyber-protection, the forward planning that is involved with ISO 27001 demonstrates that Route4Gas has evaluated the risks, as well as their business continuity and breach reporting plan if things were to go wrong. With implementing ISMS compliant with ISO 27001, Route4Gas has taken one more essential step to prevent data from falling into the wrong hands.
